Welcome to the home page of the Green Business Network (GBN). GBN is an independent, business-led, membership-based local environmental charity working with businesses, and related organisations in Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes and neighbouring areas.

The organisation is led by a Steering Group and Board of Trustees from local business, supported by representatives from Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire Councils, the Environment Agency and the Chamber.

GBN is a leading business environmental network and provides a range of services to help members improve their environmental performance. Much of that support is either part- or fully-funded through Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire Councils. This enables GBN to provide an extremely cost-effective, impartial service to members.

The strength of GBN is in its membership. Managers from a variety of business sectors and business sizes, each with a range of experience and skills, work together to help each other exchange information, adopt best practice and make savings by taking advantage of free services and training.

A growing number of businesses are finding that improving their environmental performance is leading to surprising benefits. In addition to legal compliance, pollution prevention and continual improvement, these include reduced waste, lower utility bills, better processes, improvements in PR and increased profits.

GBN is part of the Bedfordshire & Luton Sustainable Business Partnership (BLSBP) and works in partnership with a range of projects and organisations to ensure members achieve the very best support available. We look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Network and to helping you become a truly sustainable business.

Free Energy Management Seminar

Carbon Trust teams up with Bedfordshire Councils

The Carbon Trust is running an Energy Efficient Breakfast for SMEs in the Bedfordshire area, working in partnership with the Bedfordshire Councils on 11 January 2012.
By attending an Energy Efficient Breakfast workshop your organisation will be able to:

• Manage and monitor your organisation’s energy use
• Identify and implement key energy reduction opportunities
• Conduct a walk around survey to identify further opportunities
• Implement actions identified within the session
• Have a one-to-one consultation with our expert trainer
• Network with other like-minded businesses in your area.

The event will be hosted at Borough Hall, Bedford, MK42 9AP. Registration and breakfast starts at 7:30am, with the training session runningbetween 8:00am and 10:00am, and a carbon surgery and networking opportunityuntil 10:30am.
